The patient is Elvira. Her son, Jorge, speaks on her behalf. Elvira came to see Dr. Tong roughly 3 years ago for treatment of her diabetes. Prior to beginning her NBE therapy, her blood sugar readings were an average of 350 mg/dL while being on Humalog. After several treatments, Elvira is now on Novalog 70-30 and her blood sugar readings are around 100 mg/dL.

Elvira had an incident where she slipped and fell, causing bruises. Jorge was told by another provider that it would take 6 to 8 months for the bruises to heal for a patient of Elvira’s age (90s). However, Dr. Elain Tong began giving Elvira treatments to help heal the bruising and within 6 weeks, the bruises and pain from the fall were both gone.
