Fake news abound the food and pharmaceutical industry just as it does in politics. When an article says that GMO foods have existed for thousands of years, it is fake news from Monsanto or its cronies.
Traditional breeding of plants, as done by G. Mendel or other farmers, is a natural harmless process that mates plants or animals of the same species. When mating two animals which are different species, such as a horse and donkey, the offspring are usually infertile even though the animals are closely related.
GMO, on the other hand, is the byproduct of genetic engineering, GE – a technique used to alter the genes of foods to make new kinds of plant, animal or other living organisms. It is unnatural, harmful and goes against the Divine design.
Many GMOs have antibiotic-resistant genes in them. The reason is that current GE techniques used to transfer genes have a very low success rate, so researchers must attach “marker genes” that are resistant to antibiotics to trace which cells have taken up the new DNA.
Examples of GE experiments that have already been done include spider/goat, fish/strawberry, corn/hepatitis virus and corn/human. In the last case, a human gene with antibodies that kill sperms is inserted into corn to make plant-gel contraceptive that kill sperms.
Since the advent of GMO foods 25 years ago, sterility in modern males has drastically increased! One reason is that GMOs are pervasive and it is nearly impossible to avoid them in a modern society.
For example, over 90% of US corn and soy are GMOs. These cheap food impostors are used to feed live stocks and farmed fish. Therefore, restaurant food is likely to be all GMO products.
Even organic food is not guaranteed to be GMO-free. For example, Organic tomatoes are most likely grown from GMO seeds. It is not easy to find tomatoes that would soften in a week, or taste like those in the old days.
Despite GE is relatively new, there is no long-term study on their safety. The new gene may affect genetic instability, cell functions, changes in nutritional values, or cause allergies, inflammation, degenerative or autoimmune disorders, all of which has surged in recent decades.
