LUPUS, BACK PAIN, SHINGLES
I would like to know why it is taking so long to get reimbursed for the money I have spent on treatments by Dr. Tong. I signed up with your insurance because you are a three-tiered program. I was told that with the third tier, I could go outside the network to get treatment. Yet, your company seems to be denying me coverage.
Over the past 20 years I have seen many doctors before going to Dr. Tong. I have suffered from joint pain and inflammation (due to lupus), backaches and neck pain (two herniated disks), and shingles (well over a hundred episodes). The dozens of doctors I have seen have put me on all kinds of pain medication and anti-inflammatories. I have also been on Valtrex to control the shingle outbreaks. I have gone through all kinds of blood work and tests, including expensive MRIs, yet no doctor has been able to truly help me. They have been able to mask the pain but not take it away. 3 months ago I came across Dr. Tong’s web site and after much contemplation, decided to visit him. Dr. Tong spent over an hour and a half with me discussing how he thought he could help me (in that first meeting he spent more time with me than my primary care physician has spent with me if you totaled all my appointments). Based on the meeting and his web site, I decided I had nothing to lose. At the time I had excruciating pain in my neck. My primary care physician (Dr. Robertson) wanted an MRI done, but it had been three weeks, and Inner Valley still had not given authorization for the MRI. After the first treatment with Dr. Tong, my neck pain was almost gone (about 85%). I could actually nod my head up and down, and it didn’t send shooting pain through me. By the second session, the pain was completely gone. He also completely took away the pain I was having in the left side of my face. This pain had been there for over three years. I went to Dr. Robertson (who put me on antibiotics and told me to see my dentist), my dentist (who could find no reason why my teeth/face should be bothering me and sent me to a my root canal specialist), the root canal specialist (who put me on antibiotics again and sent me back to Dr. Robertson). I repeat: Dr. Tong was able to take away the pain I have been living with for three years with one treatment. He did this without the use of pain pills, anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, or any other toxic drugs. He did not mask the pain. He TOOK THE PAIN AWAY—something no other doctor has ever been able to do. This was three months ago, and the pain in my face and my neck has not returned. Now Dr. Tong is working on my joint pain. I have lived with this pain for almost twenty years, and Dr. Tong has alleviated so much of it for me. I feel like a new person. He is also working with my nutrition, and with the supplements he has given me, I have gotten off the Valtrex. I have had no outbreaks in the past two months (I have never gone this long since I first started breaking out with shingles in 1981). I have more energy than I have ever had thanks to Dr. Tong.
If you have a doctor on your list that can do what Dr. Tong has done for me- relieve my pain and give me back my energy without the use of toxic drugs, than I will be glad to make him/her my doctor. However, I have seen dozens of doctors over the past twenty years and not one of them has ever come close to producing the results that Dr. Tong has been able to produce. I am sick and tired of being put on drugs that do not help me, and I do not want to take them any more. I find it interesting that your company is willing to pay for an expensive MRI for my neck (which would only confirm that I indeed had a neck problem- it would not, in any way, relieve my pain), yet you are balking on providing me quality care that relieves my pain, at a much cheaper cost to your company. This makes no sense to me whatsoever. Dr. Tong is a licensed physician who has helped thousands of patients to date. You can read about him yourself at www.drtong.com.
I would like to be reimbursed for the money I have spent.
Sincerely,
S. Rodriguez
LUPUS, OPTIC NEURITIS
I have Lupus, and I have been treated by various specialists for over nine years. During this time, Medicare has spent thousands of dollars for periods of hospitalization, prescribed tests, MRI’s, CAT scans, and doctor’s fees. Even so, my condition had deteriorated to the point where the doctor was going to start me on chemotherapy. At this time in my downward slide I was referred to Dr. Yee-Wing Tong, MD.
He took me off all drugs, started me on a series of nerve blocks, and after two months I felt like a new person. I had relief of being able to indulge in normal physical activity for the first time in years. I have not had a relapse of the lupus since that time.
Additionally, I was attending an eye specialist for deteriorating vision about eighteen months ago, and field vision tests showed a high degree of vision loss, particularly in the left eye. I was prescribed Ocugard and vitamins, and a return visit in three months.
On a subsequent visit to Dr. Tong, I happened to mention my vision concern. He suggested his treatment for my eyes, and this was two weeks prior to my return to the eye specialist. After a follow up visual field test by the specialist, he was amazed by the 60% improvement in my vision.
My vision has remained stable since then, and so, thankfully, have my headaches.

LUPUS & COLITIS
I have suffered from severe pain in my lower back, legs, and feet due to Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. The pain became excruciating following back surgery in October, 1984. I found it nearly impossible to walk or stand for any length of time.
After consulting orthopedic specialists who informed me they had no help for my condition, I returned to my internist, Dr. Dennis Clark who suggested I contact Dr. Yee Wing Tong. My first visit to Dr. Tong was October 7, 1986, since then I have had acupuncture, epidural morphine, and nerve block. My condition has greatly improved and the pain in my legs, feet, and back has nearly diminished.
I also have ulcerated colitis for many years and after being treated by acupuncture. I am without pain and discomfort that is associated with it.
Needless to say, I am eternally grateful to Dr. Tong and his conscientious staff. And also to Dr. Clark for his realization that the combination of Western and Eastern Medicine can achieve phenomenal results.
